Satan represents the embodiment of ultimate evil, acting as a constant adversary to humanity and various human institutions. His main objective is to disrupt our way of life. To achieve this, he seeks to deceive, create divisions, and cause destruction. He uses cunning and manipulative tactics to lead individuals away from the foundation that keeps America stable. By employing various tactics, he works tirelessly to fulfill his goals to unravel America’s institutions and culture. We must understand and comprehend Satan’s strategy and tactics “in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.” (2 Corinthians 2:11).
Strategy is the overall action plan that directs Satan toward his goals, while tactics refer to the specific steps and actions taken to achieve those goals. A tactic is the skillful use of available resources to accomplish a desired outcome.
Both strategies and tactics are focused on three targets: Individuals, Institutions, and Foundations.
Strategy
The main goal of these deceitful tactics is to create a divide between people and God, undermine their connections with one another, and obscure their understanding of right and wrong. This manipulation distorts perceptions and weakens the foundations of community and faith.
Satan, a patient strategist, is gradually reshaping our culture to achieve his ultimate goal of transforming the people and the nation. This cultural shift, reminiscent of the story of Rip Van Winkle, is unfolding before the eyes of America’s citizens, leaving many feeling bewildered. Most people recognize an ongoing culture war and that we are losing it, but they do not always understand the reasons behind these changes or how to respond to them. The gradual nature of this shift is similar to a slow-burning fire, and individuals are beginning to awaken to these changes.
Creating a new and updated foundation aims to “liberate human beings from the circumstances that enslave them.(Quoted in No Reason to Hide, Erwin Lutzer, 66, Michael Knowles, Speechless, Controlling Words, Controlling Minds, Regnery Publishing, Washinton, D.C., p.22)The revolutionists aim to free us from oppressive systems and to challenge and dismantle traditional culture, particularly Christian culture. This effort will involve shaping and changing the traditional understanding of gender, marriage, family, and other aspects rooted in history. Additionally, it is believed that there is a need to free Americans from our founding documents, principles, core values, and beliefs that have shaped our national identity.
In the United States, a fervent group of individuals is convinced that our nation needs transformation. The advocates, deeply influenced by Karl Marx’s doctrines, are fervent in their convictions and rigorously trained to disseminate these revolutionary ideas. Their steadfast and patient persistence has resulted in significant progress in reshaping the viewpoints of countless American citizens. Through their dedicated efforts, they aim to transform the very essence of American culture.
Despite the looming specter of the 2024 Presidential election, which threatens to disrupt their momentum momentarily, these individuals remain steadfast in their resolve. Their unwavering commitment to their cause fuels their determination to inspire profound change in America with renewed energy and enthusiasm.
Targeting citizens, institutions, and America’s foundations, they employ deception, manipulation, and control tactics. Their methods encompass various strategies, such as propaganda and indoctrination, all aimed at influencing public perception and steering societal norms in their favor.
Scripture discusses an ongoing spiritual battle that we may not witness directly, but we experience its effects daily. The current state of our society is a result of this battle and how core institutions have been manipulated, influenced, and controlled. Satan, the adversary, uses different tactics to deceive us into believing that falsehood is truth. He operates in the realm of ideas and information, continuously seeking to distort and corrupt them. However, we Christians cannot face these deceptions and battles alone.
A crucial aspect of dismantling America’s institutions and cultural heritage involves strategically seeking influence and power within these systems. This process requires a concerted effort to systematically vilify our historical narratives, essentially rewriting them to align with a new ideological framework that supports significant societal change. Cultural Marxism serves as the proposed foundation for this transformation, aiming to construct a radically different vision for our nation’s future.
The purpose of creating a new and updated foundation is to “liberate human beings from the circumstances that enslave them.” (Quoted in No Reason to Hide, Erwin Lutzer, 66, Michael Knowles, Speechless, Controlling Words, Controlling Minds, Regnery Publishing, Washinton, D.C., p.22)One goal of Satan is to free us from an oppressive mechanism by attacking and deconstructing traditional culture, particularly Christian culture. This manipulation involves influencing and transforming the conventional interpretations of gender, marriage, family, and other historical aspects. Furthermore, Satan understands that he must liberate Americans from the foundational documents, principles, core values, and beliefs that have defined us as a nation.
Tactics
Satan is frequently referred to as the “father of lies,” a moniker that encapsulates his cunning strategy of spreading falsehoods to deceive those around him. This tactic often manifests in subtle yet potent ways, preying on the vulnerabilities and insecurities of unsuspecting individuals, particularly within the American populace. He undermines confidence and hope by casting doubt on personal worth and instilling feelings of inadequacy. Moreover, his deceptions can distort one’s understanding of divine love and fundamental moral truths, ultimately guiding people away from their core beliefs. This intricate web of lies can lead individuals to question everything they hold dear, a theme elaborated upon in the earlier post titled “Targets.”
In addition to deceit, Satan employs various tactics to gain control over people. The first is manipulation, which means unfairly influencing someone for personal gain. Another tactic is influence, which is the ability to change how someone thinks, acts, or events happen. Control refers to directing what people do or the outcome of events. These tactics can be more effective when used alongside deception when someone leads others to believe false information. The deceiver knows the information is untrue, while the person receiving it usually believes it. These tactics are effectively applied to the battleground, which, according to Hebrews 9:27, is the mind.
This confusion creates significant uncertainty and leads people to question what to believe and what actions to take. Many are searching for the truth but are unsure whom to trust anymore. Once considered a reliable source, the media has lost the public’s faith. Politics also fails to provide clear answers, leaving individuals even more perplexed. Biblical thinking and discernment serve as our guiding lights in these moments, helping us navigate through the fog of deception.
It is crucial to acknowledge the profound impact of Satan’s tactics on the control of society and the shaping of worldviews throughout history. For centuries, deliberate strategies have subtly altered cultural values and societal norms. When individuals disseminate falsehoods and manipulate public perception to accept these lies as truth, it typically manifests as a propaganda campaign. Such campaigns can stealthily infiltrate various institutions, including educational systems, family dynamics, religious organizations, and the media, all while presenting a new agenda that masquerades as a beneficial initiative for the public.
As America experiences a gradual weakening of its unifying principles, a diverse array of competing ideologies has begun to emerge. However, the core conflict resides between these ideologies and the ways they are interpreted through the contrasting lenses of Post-Truth and Truth-Based perspectives. Gaining a deep understanding of these ideological struggles is vital, as they are significant contributors to the ongoing discord we witness in contemporary society. These conflicting ideologies weaken the nation’s fabric and leave America increasingly susceptible to misinformation and confusion, highlighting the urgent need for heightened awareness and proactive engagement.
Propaganda is a tactic frequently used by Satan to influence people’s thoughts and actions effectively.“Edward Bernays, in his book Propaganda, defends the use of propaganda and the need for the “intelligent manipulation” of the masses. He explains, “Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country.
Bernays writes that “we are governed, our minds molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of . . .They pull the wires that control the public mind, harness old social forces, and contrive new ways to bind and guide the world.” It controls what we think without knowing we are being manipulated and influenced.
Propaganda takes many different forms. Sometimes, it hides the truth; sometimes, it uses half-truths; sometimes, it distorts the truth by the selective use of facts or history, or it uses one-sided assertions. Almost always, it seeks to present its argument by appealing to a higher goal, such as “the common good,” “it’s a matter of rights,” or “justice.” It claims the high moral ground and is sold as a noble cause.”(quoted from We Will not be Silenced, Harvest House, 2020, Erwin Lutzer, p 129 – 130.)
As mentioned, Satan consistently uses deception and lies but will also incorporate confusion, fear, chaos, doubt, and division to lead us astray. In the global arena, various religions and ideologies compete for influence. In American society, two dominant ideologies vie for power: Post-Truth and Truth-Based. Post-truth Relates to or denotes circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.(Quoted by John S. Dickerson, Hope of Nations, Zondervon Publishing, p. 84 from “Oxford Dictionaries Word of the Year 2016 Is . . . Post-Truth,” Oxford Dictionaries, November 16, 2016, www.oxford dictionaries.com/press/news/2016/12/11/WOTY-16.)Dickerson summarizes it this way: Post-Truth thinking defines reality by feelings more than by facts. In the simplest sense, a Post-Truth ideology is a view of the world in which truth and morality are determined by a person’s emotions, feelings, local culture, or subjective personal criteria rather than objective facts or fixed standards such as written law or immutable principles.14 (John S. Dickerson, Hope of Nations, Zondervan Publishing, 2018, p. 84)
Truth-based, “for our purposes, ” is an objective standard distinct and separate from one’s feelings, experiences, culture, or background. Cultures, moods, and opinions change, but truth remains fixed and absolute. (John S. Dickerson, Hope of Nations, Zondervan, 2018, p101)
Various ideologies compete around the world, including capitalism and socialism/Marxism. Predicting which ideology will dominate in America is challenging. However, some argue that cultural Marxism is currently the prevailing ideology in the country. If conflicting ideologies are indeed steering us toward Marxism, there could be significant consequences as America shifts in that direction. Marxism is gaining popularity and becoming a dominant ideology, largely due to its extensive teaching in universities and students’ receptiveness toward it.
One approach he employs to achieve his objectives involves rallying individuals and groups around the revolutionary Marxist concepts of Antonio Gramsci and Rudi Dutschke. Both thinkers shared the belief that a fundamental transformation of society was crucial, advocating for a gradual revolution that would unfold through the strategic takeover of various cultural institutions. Dutschke proposed that Marxism could secure its influence by infiltrating and capturing these key institutions. To realize their vision, it is essential for cultural leaders to ascend to positions of authority within the existing frameworks of society, thereby enabling a shift in the prevailing cultural norms and values. (Paraphrased from E Lutzer, No Reason to Hide, p. 65)
It is essential to seek institutional influence and power to advance the deconstruction of America’s institutions and culture. This involves systematically vilifying our past and rebuilding it based on an ideology that will justify the change. Cultural Marxism is seen as meeting the need to create a new foundation for our nation.
Many individuals assert that Satan is actively working to divert Americans from the divine path and the teachings of God. This ongoing spiritual conflict is thought to be causing a significant upheaval in the fundamental values and beliefs that have traditionally upheld American society for generations. Although Satan does not possess the ability to know everything or to be present in multiple places at once, he cleverly recruits various agents—individuals who willingly subscribe to his malevolent agendas. These agents, entangled in his persuasive rhetoric, become unwitting accomplices, aiding him in executing his elaborate schemes and deceptive tactics, further eroding the nation’s moral foundation. Tragically, the support they provide often comes from unsuspecting individuals who believe they are acting in accordance with good intentions.
